Southampton - This is Your Church

Together for The Kingdom

Our shared vision for Southampton

OneBody Southampton is a unity group of churches from all across our city, drawn together by our shared faith, hope and love in Jesus.

We exist to celebrate unity, to encourage each other, and to communicate our shared faith in Jesus with people across our city.

OneBody is for followers of Jesus. We are responding to Jesus' request that his church is one, and can wonderfully reflect the diversity, creativity and co-dependence of the whole body of Jesus in our city. We are for the Kingdom of God, which is expanding and growing in exciting ways here. We are growing in unity across the church to the point that our city is being transformed as people get to experience the love of Jesus for themselves.

Our group is continually growing. Read on to find out more about how you might get involved in what is happening in Southampton...

What does OneBody Southampton do?

Building Community

We meet together as church and project leaders every month to share and encourage each other. We pray together, eat together and grow together. OneBody is a relational network, we currently link around 80 leaders from around 50 different churches and projects across our city.

Find out how to join the community of church and project leaders by contacting us or subscribing to our mailing list.

Encouraging Prayer

We help to connect believers in Southampton with prayer initiatives that are already happening, as well as encouraging new initiatives to start.

We are working on a resource that maps activities across the city, from toddler groups to training courses, and from congregation meeting places to community cafes.

We want to encourage and mobilise people to pray for our city. Find out more about the Prayerwalk.app, and join us in prayer walking our whole city together.

Supporting Unity Events

We support and encourage unity faith events, such as the recent Easter event in Guildhall Square. We help to link our communities to mobilise volunteers, funding, skills, and expertise, as well as connecting with churches to engage with city events.

We aim to connect church communities with resources and equipping right across the city. To tell us about how you may be able to help, or to let us know about something exciting that is going on, please get in touch here.

Praying together across the city

The Prayer walking map was reset to zero for the Turn the Battle prayer initiative in January and we are encouraging every believer from across Southampton to join us in praying for every street in this city in the coming weeks and months:

With the App you can mark the routes you have prayed or you can live track as you pray. You can also add specific prayer needs for the areas you are praying for.

Our History

Many of our churches and projects were previously involved with Southampton Christian Network, which was formally closed in 2022. Although the network was closed, it facilitated a project called the learning community which enabled study and relationship building for church leaders in the city through 2022 - 2023.

Following on from the learning community initiative, it was agreed in 2024 that OneBody Southampton would be formed, with a vision to encourage and facilitate unity amongst the churches in Southampton
